Whilst in Australia I had wanted to see some of the paradise islands off the coast of Queensland. Most of them involve having to pay for expensive day excursions / guided tours as these places aren't all accessible by your own means. Our budget wasn't really going to allow for us to be able to do those things. However, upon discovering that I am going to have a little more money to go away with than I originally thought (thanks to Mum breaking her ankle!) I've gone and booked a load of stuff. So, we're doing a day tour of Fraser Island, a cruise round the Whitsundays, stopping at Daydream Island and Whitehaven Beach, a day trip out on the Great Barrier reef to snorkel, maybe dive if courage and money allows us.. And I also booked to go jet-boating whilst in Queenstown, New Zealand. Gotta do some sort of outdoorsy thing whilst there. Didn't realise how tiny Queenstown was despite it's popularity, it's got a population the same size as Thame. Also got tickets for Universal Studios while we're in LA. Sounds much more like a holiday again now.
Got Hep A, Hep B booster and Typhoid today, two sore arms again.
And I got an email telling me our ferry for New Zealand has been cancelled, with no explanation.. And none of the numbers they've given me to reschedule it have worked. It has to be rescheduled for the same day I booked it for, otherwise it messes everything up!
1st SEPT - 1st OCT: Road trip California. 1st OCT - 11th NOV: Road trip New Zealand. 11th NOV - 13th DEC: Australia - Adelaide to Cairns. 13th DEC - 19th DEC: Hong Kong.

55 days to go.
It's gone from being 11 months away, to just short of 8 weeks, very quickly! Now I'll be out house sitting for the next month, and after that it'll only be 3 and a half weeks.
Made an appointment to ask the doctor about vaccinations, wasn't sure we'd really need any as we're not going anywhere particularly exotic. I ended up getting Hep A, Hep B and an MMR booster (unrelated to travelling but given to me anyway). I go again in a few weeks for Hep A and B booster, and Typhoid, then again just before we go for another Hep A and B booster. And I have to remember to make an appointment for June next year for a final Hep A and B booster!
Everything is pretty much done now, all pre-booked/paid for things are done, finally. I've been creating a more detailed itinerary of what things to do on what days, by checking out where everything is on Google Maps from where we'll be staying, so I can group things together to make the most of our time in each place, as it's all so precisely scheduled. I have scheduled in some time to rest too.. Google Maps are pretty much all printed. Definitely going to get very lost on many occasions. Doing this also made me realise a bit of an error I made in New Zealand South Island, I didn't account for the lack of connecting roads across the national parks, so we're not staying the night at Mount Cook, it's only a couple of hours away from where we're staying prior to that anyway (Wanaka), so we'll just head up for a day. From Wanaka we'll then move onto The Fox Glacier and stay there instead for a night.
All that's left to do is, print off all our confirmation emails, photocopy important documents for parents, notify our banks, get traveller's cheques, book our buses for Australia in advance, a few other little things... And check in online!!!
I'm not entirely sure what to do about my phone abroad, whether to get an international sim card, keep my phone as normal, or try not to use it at all and get pay phone cards for each country we're in. That's the last thing I really need to look into.
